Trimethylchlorosilane (molecular formula: (CH3) 3SiCl), also known as chlorinated trimethylsilane, chlorotrimethylsilane, trimethylmonochlorosilane, colorless liquid at room temperature, is a halogenated silane, in organic synthesis has many uses. It is stable in the absence of water, but decomposes with water, producing six methyl two siloxane and hydrochloric acid.
